Michelangelo Pistoletto – Metawork

From November 27th to September 1st in the spaces of the Gran Galleria of the Royal Palace of Caserta, the “Metawork” exhibition will explore the artist’s revolutionary reflections on art and society, offering a journey into the visionary concept of “metamorphosis” and “interconnection”.

The “Metawork” exhibition takes its name from the work Metawork-United Portraits presented for the first time on the occasion of the exhibition. Created starting from the photographic portraits of eight citizens of Cittadellarte, it manages to recombine them through an artificial intelligence program, allowing that transition that characterizes Pistoletto’s work already in the Mirror Paintings, from the individual to the collective dimension. The exhibition is produced by the Reggia di Caserta Museum and Opera Laboratori, in collaboration with Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto and Galleria Continua, and offers a profound journey into the Biella artist’s visionary concept of “metamorphosis” and “interconnection”.
