Opera Laboratori has seen a further rise in visitor numbers across the approximately 100 museums it manages throughout Italy in 2025. While 2024 saw the number of visitors rise well in excess of 15 million, forecasts for the current year anticipate a further 30% increase in ticket sales over 2023. These figures, over the years, have led to the gradual expansion of staff — now topping the 1,000 mark —to accommodate the significant growth in visitor numbers.
Since opening its first Visitor Centre in Florence in 2021, Opera Laboratori has developed a network of concept points—now eight across Italy—dedicated to museum services and visitor experience. The most recent addition is our ‘Dear Guests’ project in Siena, launched in parallel with a web portal of the same name: a virtual showcase designed to effectively meet our guests’ diverse needs.
