A masterpiece that never ceases to inspire gazes, interpretations, and emotions. Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, one of the most celebrated painting cycles in the history of art, comes to life in a surprising new interpretation in the exhibition at Casa Buonarroti: “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel. A Multimedia Icon”, on view in Florence from September 24, 2025, to January 7, 2026.
The exhibition, promoted by the Casa Buonarroti Foundation in collaboration with the Vatican Museums and the Tuscany Region, was strongly supported by Foundation President Cristina Acidini and Director Alessandro Cecchi, to inaugurate the newly restored and rearranged exhibition halls on the ground floor of Casa Buonarroti. The show is produced by Opera Laboratori and curated by Silvestra Bietoletti and Monica Maffioli.
“The exhibition route, set within the suitably restored rooms, will certainly inform, move, and amaze visitors,” emphasizes Casa Buonarroti Foundation President Cristina Acidini. “Masterpieces of such magnitude continue to act as leaven for creativity even in difficult times, restoring trust in humanity and its future.”
With more than 60 works, the exhibition offers a reinterpretation of one of the most monumental and renowned painting cycles in the history of Renaissance art through a compelling perspective: the multimedia iconicity of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel.
